Beli

orginates from the forests that grow in the Congo Basin in Gabon

Beli

Source

Beli is available in the forests of Precious Woods, located in the Congo Basin of Gabon. The tree attains heights up to 45 m and diameters between 80 and 100 cm. The trunks are straight and cylindrical and have buttress root boards.

Appearance

Freshly sawn Beli has a brown color. The alternate darker and lighter streaks result in a decorative and regular pattern on the quartered surface. The 100-150 mm wide sapwood is lighter and easy to distinguish from the heartwood. The wood structure is straight to irregular, and sometimes slightly interlocked. The texture is medium coarse.

Processing properties

The machining of Beli can be done rather easily, although some distortion can occur after planing. Pre-drilling is necessary. The gluing and finishing properties are rather good. It dries moderately quickly too slowly, with small risks of cracking and deformation.

Application

The decorative Beli is mainly used for interior applications, for example for cabinetwork, stairs, flooring, moldings, furniture and panelling. The wood can also be used for exterior applications, like decking and facades.
